Analysing the Correlation of Geriatric Assessment Scores and Activity in Smart Homes

A continuous monitoring of the physical strength and mobility elderly people is important for maintaining their health treating diseases at an early stage. However, frequent screenings by physicians are exceeding logistic capacities. An alternate approach automatic unobtrusive collection functional measures ambient sensors. In current publication, we show correlation among data motion sensors well-established assessments Short-PhysicalPerformance-Battery, Tinetti Timed Up & Go. We use average number sensor events as activity measure with assessment scores. The evaluation on a real-world dataset shows moderate to strong scores standardised geriatrics assessments.
